Converging together
Lexindia’s telecommunications experience
within India and overseas
We are seeing a convergence
of the telecommunications and broadcasting industries as a whole, with operators and service providers offering increasingly innovative and technically-enhanced solutions
to their customers.
Lexindia, an Indian law firm, emphasises on
an up-to-date telecommunications expertise when advising clients. “The traditional approach of law firms providing sector specific advice on telecommunications, information technology and media matters will no longer meet the needs of increasingly sophisticated clients, whose services will include bundled broadband, media, broadcast and technology solutions as well as the basic services,” says Michael Taylor, Head of Lexindia’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) practice.

Besides the extra considerations brought
about with convergence, another major factor for
the telecommunications company is the issue of regulation. According to Taylor, a company’s
decision to invest in telecommunications infrastructure and roll out new services is largely based on risks and opportunities presented by existing and planned regulation
in the telecommunications sector.
Members of the Lexindia TMT team are specifically industry-focussed and have gained many years of experience in senior positions
for major organisations in India and overseas (Cable & Wireless, Alcatel, Price Waterhouse Coopers, ICO, DOT and MTNL).
Before founding Lexindia, Senior Partner, Tony Khindria was also responsible for setting up Alcatel India
and assisted several other businesses in their Indian operations. Lexindia has offices in London, New
Delhi and Paris.
Vinod Sablok, member of the British
Business Group, heads the Delhi office.
